چکیده

We address the so-called subset selection problem in multiple linear regression where the objective is to select a minimal subset of predictor variables without sacrificing any explanatory power. A new mathematical programming model is proposed for this purpose. A parametric solution of this model yields a number of efficient subsets. To obtain this solution, we repeatedly use an exact or one of two heuristic algorithms. The subsets generated in this way are compared with the ones generated by several standard procedures. The results suggest that, in most cases, our approach finds subsets that compare favorably against the standard procedures (in terms of generally accepted measures such as adjusted R and

A new non-parametric approach for suppliers selection

In this paper we propose a simple non-parametric model for multiple crite-ria supplier selection problem. The proposed model does not generate a zeroweight for a certain criterion and ranks the suppliers without solving the modeln times (one linear programming (LP) for each supplier) and therefore allowsthe manager to get faster results. The methodology is illustrated using anexample.

A New Approach to Solve Fully Fuzzy Linear Programming with Trapezoidal Numbers Using Conversion Functions

Recently, fuzzy linear programming problems have been considered by many. In the literature of fuzzy linear programming several models are offered and therefore some various methods have been suggested to solve these problems. One of the most important of these problems that recently has been considered; are Fully Fuzzy Linear Programming (FFLP), which all coefficients and variables of the prob...

A MODIFIED METHOD TO DETERMINE A WELL-DISPERSED SUBSET OF NON-DOMINATED VECTORS OF AN MOMILP PROBLEM

This paper uses the L1−norm and the concept of the non-dominated vector, topropose a method to find a well-dispersed subset of non-dominated (WDSND) vectorsof a multi-objective mixed integer linear programming (MOMILP) problem. The proposed method generalizes the proposed approach by Tohidi and Razavyan[Tohidi G., S. Razavyan (2014), determining a well-dispersed subset of non-dominatedvectors of...

An Overview of the New Feature Selection Methods in Finite Mixture of Regression Models

Variable (feature) selection has attracted much attention in contemporary statistical learning and recent scientific research. This is mainly due to the rapid advancement in modern technology that allows scientists to collect data of unprecedented size and complexity. One type of statistical problem in such applications is concerned with modeling an output variable as a function of a sma...

Multiple attribute decision making with triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers based on zero-sum game approach

For many decision problems with uncertainty, triangular intuitionistic fuzzy number is a useful tool in expressing ill-known quantities. This paper develops a novel decision method based on zero-sum game for multiple attribute decision making problems where the attribute values take the form of triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers and the attribute weights are unknown. First, a new value ind...
